EMC Dantz has released driver patch for its popular Retrospect backup software. Retrospect 6.1.138 for the Mac adds full support for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, as well as the following:
- fixes an assert that would occur when backing up to a File backup set stored on a mounted volume if connection to the volume was lost during the backup
- improves reliability of Retrospect autolaunching when the computer is left on for extended periods of time
- “Matching” has been updated, resulting in fewer files that need to be copied
- correctly mounts networked drives that are used as sources or destinations for backup (including NAS)
- improves support for the StorageTek SL500
- eliminates accidental multiple launching of the application
NOTE: Backing up or duplication of Leopard Time Machine data is not supported. If Retrospect detects Time Machine data during a local or client operation it will add an entry to the log. Backups and duplicates using previous versions of Retrospect would stop when Time Machine data was encountered. Also, when using OS 10.5 or higher on an Intel Mac, Retrospect 6.1.138 or higher is required for full system restores or duplicates. If a previous versions of Retrospect is used, the restored system will not be bootable.
